Club Members Win Digital Arts Festivals

Each year Club members participate in the Boys & Girls Clubs of America's Digital Arts Festivals. The festivals, sponsored by Microsoft and the Best Buy Childrens Foundation, highlights a yearly theme where youth develop content that teaches web design, graphic design, photo illustration, digital music and movie making. Youth enter local Club competitions and that can leventually lead to winning a National Title for their work.

This year's Digital Arts Festival theme is "Our Changing World." What change do you want to see in your world? Your creative mission is to show --visually, musically or with words – the change in the world you see or want to see. It could be raising money at your Club to combat malaria, a recycling program in your community, a tutoring program at your school, a company working to decrease pollution – any way that you, people or organizations are working to make a positive impact, big or small, on our world.

As part of the Digital Arts Festival's BGCN members have won several titles, congratulation to the following members:

Wesley c., age 11, National Title in Movie Making
Dezarae A., age 15, Northeast Regional Title in Music Making
Steven S. and Angel A, age 16, Northeast Regional Title in Movie Making

In addition to these titles, BGCN members have won several cash prizes in the Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey Digital Arts Festivals.
