On Saturday October 15, 2011 a mixed group of seventeen high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors, from Newark Collegiate Academy gathered at BGCN’s Central Ward Unit for a day of service. The students worked outside of the Clubhouse collecting litter, planting tress, removing fallen branches and other storm debris, and providing maintenance to our playground so that our youth can play safely. The group of warm-spirited, hardworking students and their much involved teachers made the day a huge success. No strangers to the idea of community service, Newark Collegiate Academy offers volunteer opportunities to their students about four times a year. The team here at BGCN were happy to have Newark Collegiate Academy and we thank them for making the outside of our home a better place.
