- the safety of all members
- age-appropriate programs
- cultural sensitivity
- social skills and interaction

Youth Development
Strategy
Our programs help young people develop four essential, empowering traits which build self-esteem and lead to responsible citizenship:
- Competence
At BGCN, young people experience the pride and confidence that come with mastering new skills.
- Usefulness
We help young people understand the satisfaction of doing something of value for others.
- Belonging
Everyone deserves to feel accepted. We make sure our kids feel welcome and at home here.
- Power and Influence
We believe young people have valuable opinions and possess the power to influence decisions. We help our members understand that their opinions hold merit and teach ways to express opinions responsibly.
